There are a handful of nail polishes that I associate with certain holidays or events, be it because of their name like, "Happy Birthday" or simply because I wear the same nail polish every single year like, "Don't Toy with Me!" and in my mind they become fastened together.

One of these polishes for me is China Glaze "Four Leaf Clover." I consider it to be the quintessential St. Patrick's Day nail polish.

"Four Leaf Clover" could not be more perfectly named, and it's so fitting to say on St. Patrick's day whenever somebody asks you what polish you're wearing. It's bright and eye-catching enough that no one would dare pinch you for a lack of green.

Pictured is two coats.

It's such a bold, intensely pigmented kelly green that "Four Leaf Clover" is actually quite notorious in the nail blogging world for being incredibly temperamental to photograph. Because this polish contains so much vivid pigment I always double basecoat with this shade, (something I also do for all reds regardless of brand just to prevent any staining that might occur from wearing such intense color.)

Kelly green always looks beautiful with gold, especially for St. Patrick's Day, so in place of a regular topcoat I chose to use Sephora by OPI's "Only Gold for Me" sheer topper instead. I love sheer toppers and "Only Gold for Me" is one of my absolute favorites. My nails look like a generous scattering of leprechaun gold over some lush, spring grass.

What polish are you wearing for St. Patrick's day?

I love it! I think I might just have to whip this one out for St. Patrick's Day too! Hope it looks half as good on me as it does on you ^.^

I also love to wear gold glitter over green, it never gets old. And you took some amazing pictures of this polish!

  4. Trincess says:

    awesome =D <3

So cute and festive! I usually don't like gold, and didn't really want to get Only Gold For Me, but after seeing it here I'm starting to lemming XD

  6. So gorgeous!love it!

    /Hugs!

Miss Starshiny, thanks! It's a fun color to wear.

Jen, you really should! St. Patrick's day is the very best time to wear it.

PolishSis, thank you very much! I try. :-)

Trincess, I'm glad you like it!

Diane, don't get the gold one if gold isn't your color; they have a silver version and copper version too! Better to get whichever of those would be your favorite instead.

Sarahlouise1986, that makes me happy to hear!

  8. It looks like the pot of gold spilled all over your nails! Gorgeous!!

  9. I had thought about wearing this one. I even said last night that I was going to wear this one because the name was perfect; then I changed my mind! My St. Patty's nails are posted on my latest post. I love the gold over this one though! Very pretty!

    -Many Smiles!

Now, I'm not a green nail lover but my God that is a gorgeous colour. Looks great with the gold over it too.

  11. So perfect for tomorrow! I love the gold glitter!

  12. I like bold colours on you, they make a nice great contrast against your skin and the ring :>

  13. Jackie S. says:

I'm going to wear Caterpillar by BB Couture, but I really like your idea too :)

  14. Diane says:

Oooh, I think I might have to look into the copper. I love copper but it's a colour that I don't see often in polish. I've got a very weird skin tone (freakishly pale with yellow-olive undertones) so finding colours that flatter my hands can be awkward sometimes.

  15. tasha~ says:

That looks really pretty on you ! And you are right; it's so appropriate for St Patty's day ;)

  16. L says:

This is such a pretty color, I might have to look for it. My St. Patty's Day mani actually turned out kind of similar, bright Kelly green w/ gold glitter (plus some 3D acrylic art inspired by yours). I like how you matched the background with your nails!

  17. Your designs are always really cool!
I tried something too complicated for St. Patricks and did not come out as I thought, so... :( Any case, everybody noticed the nails (they thought the nails were great, nonsense) so I'll post it anyway, and share what was wrong so everybody else can skip my mistakes xD
I think I'll "steal" this design next Saint Patrick's day, it's beautiful and over all, guaranteed! :D
