Asami! I love those nails. Gorgeous. So clever and creative. I love the way you wrote your post for this and I'm guessing we'll see "Space Nails" on many blogs ;) Oh yes, you can bet, you'll be popular! :) x
This is absolutely amaaaazing!! I love the splatter effect. I wanted to try this method with a white background and gold chrome splatter, but when I tried "smooshing" the gold with the paper towel, it looked got really bumpy and globby. Any tips to make it look as awesome as yours? :-D
that looks really awesome. i used to be fascinated with space as well (still am actually) so much so that i have books on celestial matters outer space. i'm going to try this idea out as well! thanks for posting a tutorial on this!
Thank you so much, guys! I'm thrilled to find out this one went over so well!
Sarah, I'll try to demonstrate the paper-towel technique in an upcoming video for you; I hope that helps. Sheer polishes tend to work best and you only need to dab a tiny bit on the paper towel.
I'm not exaggerating when I say these are the best nails I've ever seen. :)
I tried it with a lavender polish and blue and silver holo ontop but i can't get the paper towel technique down, so I'll probably be waiting for your video :p haha
This is the coolest thing I've ever seen! I've just started out becoming obsessed with polishes and nail art, but I hope to create this look for myself one day! Thanks for the video tutorial. :)
I've just started following your blog and absolutely LOVEEE it! You have fantastic advice and I love your nails. Thanks so much for sharing your advice. Great tutorials ... xxx
Firstly, you're beautiful, secondly, your nails are beautiful. I scoured your website to see how you keep them in shape to no avail. Would you be willing to talk about the health of your nails, I really liked how you talked about "wrapping" your nails in one of your YT videos, I've never heard of that and thought it was a great tip! Anyways I'm a new subscriber, thanks for the tuts and blogs!
Really really gorgeous! I'm not into nail art, but I LOVE these effects, I think they're more interesting and eye-catching! Good work, I'll try to replicate it in the future :>
I love looking at Hubble telescope photos so I couldn't wait to give this a try. I actually went out and got Significant Other and the Pa Japanese nailpolish just to do this (couldn't track down DS Glamour and had no time to get Man Glaze). I found that one coat of DS Mystery on a coat of creme black worked well enough. The sponging technique took a while to get but the video helped tons.
So thank you for this great tutorial. I can't stop looking at my hands.
Asami Hello! I've tried to make your space-nails, just changing the colors. The result was great and everyone made me the compliments! Unfortunately, the batteries of my camera were amchcina scarische (sigh sob), so I have no photos to show you. I'll have to do it again soon. XD Have you had a wonderful idea. Sayoonara!
obviously this is a beautiful mani and awesome, clear tutorial but i have to say i grinned when you said "but some idiot named them holographic, so..." bravo smart girl :D
could you use makeup sponges instead of paper towels? i typically like the sponges better but i'm not sure if they would possibly dillute any hollographic-ness.
Amazing! You used just a few polishes, and the tutorial was so simple and easy! I like how you have the fake nails attached to pens, lol, never would have thought of that! Thanks for the tip on Zoya Matte.
