My favorite thing about Eyeko polishes is that each bottle has its own label design depending on the "look" for which each particular polish is suited.

Eyeko polishes are toluene, formaldehyde, DBP and camphor free and each bottle costs $6 at Eyeko's website.

Without a doubt, "Vintage Polish" is my favorite. It's absolutely gorgeous. Halfway between a jelly and a creme, this one required a few drops of nail polish thinner to ease application but I would still unquestionably pay $6 for it; I like it even more than Chanel's "Jade" which contains a fine shimmer and I prefer this look without. (Not to mention that "Vintage Polish" is obviously a lot cheaper.)

The above is three coats of "Lilac Polish." It's a very sweet spring pastel and I really enjoyed wearing it for a few days.

This is two coats of Eyeko's "Punk Polish" and it's like pink highlighter ink in a bottle.

The Clash's Paul Simonon's quote, "Pink is the only true rock 'n' roll color," seems to have been the inspiration for this polish. It's intensely bright and is incredibly opaque; you can actually get away with only one coat with this one but I did two just to even up my application.

This is two coats of Eyeko's "Coral Polish." When I saw how bright this "for resort nails" color was I thought it would make for a great pedicure.

"Coral Polish" is an extremely pigmented jelly in what I would describe as bold vermilion. If you Google "red coral" you can easily find real-life underwater shots that illustrate the inspiration behind this jelly polish.

This is Eyeko's "Petite Polish" which is "for French nails." When I wear French manicures I usually choose a bright creme color for my tips, but I wore white this time so you could get a clearer impression of the tint that "Petite Polish" gives.

For my white tips I used Nailene's "White French Tip Pen." (In general, I recommend their French manicure guideline stickers over this pen because with the stickers you can wear any tip color you like, but if you purchase this pen instead then you are limited to one color only.)

I then followed with one coat of "Petite Polish."

I really like this one; it gives the nude part of my nails a healthy pink tint without overly affecting tip color. My tips remained a bright white while the rest of my nails looked fresh and shiny. I will definitely be using this polish again soon, but over colored tips next time. You also have the option of skipping French tips entirely and just wearing a few coats of "Petite" for a very clean, work appropriate manicure.

Above is two coats of "Tea Rose Polish." This one was actually opaque in one coat! (I put on two because I needed to even-out the edges near my cuticles. If you can establish your polish application in one go though, you could definitely get away with only one coat with this color.)

When I saw that this style was "for country nails" I didn't think I would like it, but it ended up surprising me. While not the most exciting shade in the world, I think it is extremely flattering on and fairly work appropriate as well. "Tea Rose Polish" is pictured without topcoat here, but topcoat would certainly give it a more lustrous shine.

Next is three coats of Eyeko's "Nude Polish." I had to add a bit of nail polish thinner to this one as well because the formula was a a touch too thick for my tastes. I thought it looked quite like an orange Creamsicle in the bottle and hardly nude at all, but once I had it on I was surprised yet again. Whether or not this would look "nude" on you has absolutely everything to do with your particular skintone, so keep that in mind.

I've never worn a nude creme before and I quite liked it on; it was a nice break from the more obvious colors I'm used to wearing. "Nude Polish" contains a bit of extremely delicate shimmer to blur imperfections and that helps aid the "for perfect nails" tagline.

I'd like to thank Eyeko for generously sending me these polishes; I'm thrilled to add them to my personal collection. Though a couple required a bit of nail polish thinner, the overall product is lovely and I will definitely be wearing them again.

Which one is your favorite?

I've been seeing a lot of Eyeko in all the blogs I read lately, and I'm dying to try them out!

I think my favourites of the ones you posted are the Vintage and Lilac. I'm on a kick for those sorts of dusty muted colours lately, not sure why.

  2. Asami says:

Diane, I'm a fan of dusty and muted too. I'll take that over neon polishes any day! Make sure you have nail polish thinner if you do order these; I love them but they can be a bit on the thick side.

  3. Flavia says:

I just ordered a bunch of the new polishes the other day! They all look great on you, I especially liked Tea Rose and Vintage. ;)

  4. Tea Rose is my favourite.. Looks lovely on you. A pretty polish :)

  5. Your nail polish applications are always so neat and perfect. How do u do it lol?? Even your french is perfect whenever I do mine you can tell that there are some imperfections. I was iffy about their nail polishes but after seeing lilac, vintage, and petite I think I may be giving these a try.

  6. Asami says:

Flavia, thanks! I hope you got "Vintage" in your order.

The Diva's Polish, thank you. "Tea Rose" is subtle but quite lovely.

Danielle87, aw, thanks. I really want to make a video tutorial for basic nail polish application, but it would be too blurry on my current means of recording and it's not exactly something I can do a photo tutorial of; I think it would be too confusing. Hopefully I'll have some good tips for you when I do get to make it though!

  7. I've been seeing Eyeko everywhere and would totally love to try them out. My thought was the same as yours, they look so kawaii! Initially I was only interested in Lilac and Vintage, but seeing your swatches makes me interested in the others as well. ^^

  8. Tiana says:

    Hi,

I am amazed - your nails are perfect, unbelievable. Sorry, my English is not the best, but are these your natural nails? And if yes, what do you do to make them look like this?

    Hope you reply :-))

Great pictures and wonderful nail polish application as well.

    GORGEOUS nails! Wonderful post. =)

  12. Wow, you are blessed with beautiful hands and feet! Lucky! My feet are a fright and while I am content with my shorties, I'd like to occasionally be able to grow my fingernails out like yours, but it's just not going to happen for me. I really like your blog and always look forward to your posts.

    : )

Wow! I really like these colors! I've never heard of the brand before, but I do agree with you that it sounds Japanese. They look like great colors to add to any spring collection!

P.s. not only do you have pretty hands but pretty feet too! :D

  16. I liked all the swatches! My favorite on you was the Tea Rose, which is weird because I never really go for those colors. I foresee a future purchase for me!

  17. How the heck do you put on the nail polish so perfectly?! I always get it around the sides of the fingernail and also on cuticle sometimes lmao.. I am working on it lady!lol

  18. katherine says:

I love all the eyeko swatches! I actually got 4 of them but the bottles look different from the ones you have. Oh & I LOVE YOUR NAILS~ so long and pretty *o*

  19. Asami says:

LacquerMuse, I know, right? They look so kawaii! I love the labels and website style. Thanks for leaving a comment!

Tiana, thank you so much! I really appreciate that!

Manicure Time, it's still on my toesies too.

Anonymous, thank you! Yes, these are my natural nails. I do a lot to care for them; I use a glass nail file, I apply cuticle oil daily, I occasionally take the B vitamin biotin because it promotes growth and nail strength, and I always use a basecoat to prevent staining from all the polishes I wear. My nails are hardly ever bare because that's when breaks happen; if I have polish on they're a little bit stronger so I can keep them at a good length. I also use a buffer about once every two months so my nails are smooth and ridge-free. Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have about caring for natural nails!

nihrida, thank you! I saw that you didn't like these polishes so much on your blog, that's too bad. I agree with you that the formula is quite thick on its own. I love the "Vintage" color so much though!

faerieberry, thank you very much! It means a lot to me to hear that you look forward to my posts.

  20. Asami says:

サブ, oh, thanks! Hehe. I was worried that everyone would hate seeing a toesies picture so I'm glad that no one seems to mind.

    zuzu, I appreciate that!

Alice, thank you; I'm glad the toesies picture isn't creeping anyone out, hehe. Sometimes people are bothered by feet.

TenshiHana, I know what you mean; I didn't think I would like "Tea Rose" either but it's quite flattering!

    * Jewelry Designer: Harjot *, I leave a tiny gap in between my cuticles and where my polish actually starts. It's nearly invisible, but it makes a huge difference in application. Because the polish never touches the border of your nail, it doesn't spill onto the sides or underneath your cuticle which means no clean-up afterwards. Hopefully I'll be able to make a tutorial video with some tips in it soon!

katherine, I think I know the ones you mean, the little jar bottles with the wide mouths? I've seen those on a few blogs but I believe they've stopped making them. These skinny bottles are the new ones; either way the labels are super cute!

  21. Jin says:

Thanks Asami for posting these beautiful swatches. Your polish application always look so flawless! I really like the Lilac, Nude and Vintage ones. Not sure if I'll be able to find any of these polish here in Australia? Do they have a website I can buy from?

Oops I always assumed Eyeko was a Japanese brand! Their products are so cute. Great swatches as always!
